An Evening at Del Posto

An Evening at Del Posto

I have to admit that last week's snowstorm threw me off - physically! I spent nearly two entire afternoons shoveling my way out! So you can imagine my bliss to know that we are officially in the Spring 2017 season!

What's funny is that right before that right before the snow storm hit NYC, I was checking out Del Posto. Sure, you've been here or you've probably heard of it considering Del Posto is an upscale fine dining creation of Mario Batali, Joe Bastianich, Lidia Bastianich and partner/Executive Chef Mark Ladner. It's Italian cuisine at its finest and regularly receives accolades for the overall dining experience.

Recently, Del Posto renovated its private dining rooms with dark woods and light ceilings. It's got a modern look with arched ceilings, which gives off an air as if you were in your own personal wine cellar throwing a party. All the rooms I viewed were on the lower level.

Gattinara Room - This room is a functioning wine cellar that has an intimate feel. I can see myself here with a group of friends or attending a board dinner. The maximum this can hold for dinner is 16 people.

Piemonte Room - The reception I attended was in the Piemonte Room (which is a combination of the Barbaresco Room, which seats 56 people in rounds, and the Barolo Room, which seats 80 people in rounds). Two bars were set up on either side of the room as well as three to four food stations.

And speaking of stations, check out these three beautiful tables:
