The Pershing Square Signature Theater
Eeek! I was hoping to post something last week but was onsite running my own conference in DC! Oh well, it was the best of intentions. Nevertheless, I still have a fantastic venue to share with you in New York City!
Looking for a unique space to hold that keynote conference? Want something different than your typical theater venue? I strongly suggest you check out Signature Theater. This theater has several spaces that can accommodate your needs. I recently attended a showcase event where I got to see what Signature Theater has to offer.
Located on 10th Avenue between 41st and 42nd street, The Signature Theater is fairly easy to get to, and it has an impressive entrance. There's a lot of opportunity for branding on the sign panels and possibly some gobo lights with a logo flashing on the walls or on the floor.
The main lobby is on the 2nd floor, in an open room that acts as the central hub leading to various theaters in the facility. There is a fixed counter (photo below, on the left) that can be set up as a bar in the lobby. Lounge furniture can be brought in for a reception. At this event, we were also treated to a performance so a small stage can also be set up in the lobby, near the the staircase (which is where I'm standing when I took this photo, below).
A concierge/registration desk can be set up to greet guests upon arrival to the 2nd floor. I learned that this desk is movable. I like how professional, yet simple, this registration desk is. It's definitely a lot nicer that a six-foot skirted table.
The Signature Theater also has rooms of various sizes that could be used as rehearsal spaces for the talent performing in the theater. Below is one rehearsal studio that was used as the meal prep room by the caterer.
The Signature Theater has several rooms that accommodate your corporate event, or performance event, depending on the size of your group. However, one of the more fascinating rooms I liked was The Linney Theater. The stage is in the center of the room and stadium seating is on either side of the stage. In addition, there is mezzanine seating available. I think this would be a great set up for a "TED Talk" style conference or speaking engagement.
When I saw The Linney Theater, it was actually set up for a play, which I thought was nice because of the 360 degree views of the stage.
