Serve Your Menu in Style

Serve Your Menu in Style

I recently attended the 11th annual StarChefs International Chefs Congress in Brooklyn where I came across PackNWood.com as one of the exhibitors. And I loved the products they had in their booth!

Cups and Chinese boxes are great for food sampling.

I could not stop snapping photos of these products because of one past work experience that I never forgot. I worked on a conference where we wanted to have a "brown bag lunch" (which pretty much mean to hotels a boxed lunch). However, my boss at the time wanted lunch to be served differently, or perhaps neater.

She mentioned to me the bento box layout from Japanese restaurants. While it was a creative way to serve lunch, I argued that it would be more trouble than it was worth to discuss with the chef a customized (and still hearty) meal to serve in a dainty bento box. I mean, my attendees were expecting a hearty roast beef sandwich, not a compartmentalized, blend-the-tastes-yourself meal. In addition, I knew that we would be responsible for the costs of the bento box. And in my mind, the affordable bento box would've been plastic anyway and therefore, unstable, messy, un-recyclable and ugly. We abandoned this idea completely.

Imagine my surprise to see such clean-looking trays from PackNwood.com! Large enough to hold a mighty meal with a side dish or side condiments. Recyclable AND I just assumed they would have matching wooden sporks (spoon+fork in one utensil).

So I HAD to go check out their web site. And I was so impressed when I saw this.
