Estiatoria Milos NYC
So you've probably figured out my theme for this week: foodie week! Well Foodie Friday is no exception. Today, I thought I'd reminisce to my early working days when a vendor offered to treat me to a business lunch...and she chose Estiatorio Milos in New York. This was in 2002.
I remember the place being somewhat quiet. And I couldn't understand why. You see, Estiatoria Milos has these high, stone-looking ceilings and cascading white curtains. It was so large yet beautiful. And of course there was the "menu" of fresh fish on ice that you could choose as your dish. For me, this was all new.
Fifteen years later, Estiatoria Milos in New York is still as popular as ever. And the food is still as delicious as ever. My favorite dish is the grilled branzino with olive oil, salt, pepper, and capers. I add the lemon. It's simple, and fantastic.
It's no surprise that I was invited to a dinner with some Canadian hotelierrs to dine at Estiatorio Milos since the restaurant chain originated in Canada. But clearly, my Canadian peers were more familiar with the menu because this is what we had for dinner:
There is private dining at Estiatorio Milos, but not for large parties. For more information on their private dining, visit: http://milos.ca/restaurants/new-york/private-dining-new-york
