Party at Cipriani's

Party at Cipriani's

The only Cipriani venue I have been to in New York is Cipriani 42nd Street. Talk about a grand entrance! The sixty-four foot ceilings, the marble columns and gorgeous chandeliers make this venue so elegant that it just attracts sophisticated events. I attended a networking dinner at this venue recently and once again, I am reminded of how classy Cipriani's is...not only from the venue perspective, but also in terms of the menu and the service.

First of all, the food is excellent. You can't go wrong with any choices on the menu. And I love the menu cards they gave us. The dish below is a salad of roasted baby artichokes, sun dried tomatoes, arugula and crispy Parmesan. Loved it!

As I mentioned before, one of the things I like about Cipriani is the service. Sometimes I can be a stickler for etiquette but in this day and age, one has to let it go (unfortunately). One of my memorable moments of the evening was when the banquet captain circled his servers around our table. I heard him whisper, "Server on the left, remove on the right." And on that note, our main dish was placed in front of all of us in unison. It's the little details like this that make me happy. It may not mean much to anyone else, but to me it's a touch of class.

For dessert, Cipriani put out two dessert tables. From what I've sampled, all the dessert I ate were fantastic! It was definitely a decadent feast and plenty for our group to enjoy.

The outer perimeter of the Grand Ballroom can be used as a reception area. For the event I attended, the walkway was set up as mini-tabletop exhibits for casual networking. I thought this was an interesting use of the space, although at times it was difficult through the crowd of people in this narrow space.

The Grand Ballroom is the main area of the venue. However, there is a Chapel room which is about 1,760 square feet and is connected to a small terrace, which is about 600 square feet. At the event I attended, the terrace was used for the DJ booth since it overlooks the Chapel room. The Chapel Room was mainly used as a dance floor, and also has a built-in bar.
