Atelier KATE S|S 18'

New York Fashion Week continues with another show under the belt! Tonight, I viewed the collection from Atelier KATE. This season's collection celebrates "beautiful feminine power" and designer Katherine Tramposh was inspired by the transformation of a woman's dark side to a form of control and "oppression into a symbol of strength, sex appeal and domination."

The collection overall shows a sense of dark, sensual colors (black, purple) displaying contemporary elegance, but also two-toned black and camel looks show the duality of sexiness and sophistication. I found the collection to be comfortable and I particularly like the organic silk, oversized, wide-legged pant, below.

Atelier KATE is best know for creating "sustainable fashion" or "eco-fashion". When starting her company, designer Kate Tramposh research the standards for organic and fair trade clothing and partnered with suppliers who shared her vision. As mentioned on the AtelierKate.com, "In striving to create a company that supports people, Katherine, set out to find manufacturers and suppliers with the same vision of creating concrete change in their communities and in the way they do business."

While the cost may be a little more expensive, the quality is there. After the show I viewed some pieces and the softness of the fabrics is amazing!
