Singapore's Marina Bay Sands

Singapore's Marina Bay Sands

When I started my new job, they told me I had to travel to Singapore. I've never been there so I was really excited. But then I found out the hotel I was going to stay at was Marina Bay Sands. I was giddy happy, way beyond excitement. On Netflix, if you watch the first episode of "Amazing Hotels: Life Beyond the Lobby", you will see how massive this hotel property is and what it takes to run a top luxury hotel.

HOTEL ROOM, CONCIERGE LEVEL

Out of habit, I did a tour of my hotel room on the concierge level. I was told that the rooms on this level are slightly larger than the regular rooms. Otherwise there wasn't much of a difference. My room faced the bay, overlooking Gardens By the Bay which features the eco-friendly "supertrees" (which are solar-powered, absorb heat and collect rain water).

One of the things I loved (and a little embarrassed about how messy I am) was the housekeeping service. My attendant would see the make-up mess I left on the desk and organize it for me. That, and the cute, towel animals he would leave for me.

INFINITY POOL

The most famous feature of Marina Bay Sands is the Infinity Pool. It's located on the top of the hotel property, stretching across all three towers, with views of the Singapore city.

When I show photos of the Infinity Pool, everyone asks me what's on the other side. It just so happens that I took a video to show what is "beyond" the pool.

There's so much more I could say about Marina Bay Sands. It's a total experience and I would recommend anyone to stop by, even if it's just to take in the views. Just an FYI, the infinity pool is only open to hotel guests. But if you just want to see it, there is a bar up there where you can enjoy the view.

More to come this week on Singapore!
