Let's Run Yankees! Let's Run!

Let's Run Yankees! Let's Run!

In celebration of the Yankees winning last night's game, I thought I'd talk about that one time I went to Yankee Stadium. Turns out, you can have an event at Yankee Stadium! I know because I attended a sporting event there. No, it was not a baseball game but a fundraising 5K run. I couldn't think of a better way to see Yankee Stadium for the first time. After taking a few pictures outside of the stadium, we headed to the hospitality suite.

Delta SKY 360° Suite

From what I understand, you have to pay an annual membership to have access to the Delta SKY 360° Suite - I mean, a lot of money. Companies buy out access year round, because the views of the diamond are pretty awesome. That being said, I think (don't quote me because I haven't been able to research this) the suite is available for private events during off season or non-game days. The suite itself is pretty large, equipped with central bar and, off to the side, a cafeteria-like service counter for food. The space is clean and has a sophisticated, sports bar look, complimented with lounge furniture including high tables. The outdoor patio has small tables that fit 4 people per table, and a nice view of inside the stadium.

Below is a view from the patio. You're basically behind home base! Because of the lower level, one would certainly get a better view of the game and of the players. And you have a great view of the jumbo screen! Just to give you some perspective of the 5k race I attended, we ran twice around the stadium on the ground level, a run through the tunnels (did Derek Jeter run walk down way?!), twice around diamond (Yes! I ran on the field around the diamond!), and then took the stairs up to the third floor and down the ramp twice. Whoever came up with this route was pretty creative and even though I thought it was strenuous, I couldn't help but stop sometimes to take pictures. Although I grew up in New York, I've never been to a Yankee game. But I remember all the buzz over building a new stadium and it was nice to see what they did - everything is modern and I feel the stadium upgraded their restaurants, bars and lounges. At one point, I ran past a roped off, Jimmy Beam lounge set up right in the public hall. Ha!

Okay, let me come clean. I did do a little research to find out if Yankee Stadium could be rented for private events but for that kind of information, it's best to talk directly to the folks there. Yankee Stadium does have other venue "areas" available for rent. Go here for more information: http://mlb.mlb.com/nyy/ballpark/events/contact.jsp

In the mean time, this is the info I found on the Delta 350° Suite: http://m.mlb.com/yankees/tickets/info/delta-sky360

You know I had to take a selfie! What a great way to see Yankee Stadium for the first time!
