Read My Lips

Read My Lips

One of the perks that I enjoy are the fun events that either a hotel or a destination sponsors in order to let us know about what's new for meeting and event planners. Not only do I learn about new builds in a destination or recent renovations at a hotel, I also discover a new venue or activity. Recently I had dinner with a certain CVB*, followed by a "make your own lipstick" activity.

BITE Lip Lab is a cute lipstick parlor located in Soho (other locations include San Francisco and Toronto) where shoppers can create their own lipstick, not only by color but flavor too. And they will close the shop for private events - think "girls night out" or "bachelorette" parties. Did I mention that they have so many colors to choose from?!

To me, BITE is very interesting because I have always been curious as to how lipstick was made. BITE did a great presentation of the flavors (mint, citrus, wildberry, coconut, etc.) and bottled gloss colors. I loved the whole process of choosing my flavor, my colors and whether to get the lipstick in a glossy or matte form. Okay, I went for the gussy glossy!

At the end of the event, I ended up with two lipsticks - one that was a dark, deep red glossy for evening events, and an orange-red glossy for summertime. For both, I chose a mint flavor which feels tingly on my lips. Everything was boxed in BITE's cute packaging, along with a few other lip samples.

Even thought the store BITE is a bit small, it was very engaging and girly (but in a good way). The lip lab consultants were friendly and helpful in putting together the perfect colors for us as we sipped on our wine and champagne.

Glossy Dark Red

Here's my selfie wearing this dramatic red - I really liked this because it turned out more glossy than expected, and a strong minty flavor. ;)

Even if you don't have an event to hold, stop by BITE Lip Lab anyway. It's so much fun!

*CVB = convention & visitors bureau. Most cities have a CVB to promote their destination as an ideal location for tourism and conventions.
